I think I have seen the dumbest take on a subreddit in a long time

Someone tried to use "good science" to justify someone not joining a crew in One Piece based on past stuff which is a fictional story

Best part is, they left out stuff so their "science" can't work

Also, it's a fictional story, can't use science to justify who joins what

A few issues with it
||Igaram surviving was done so poorly
like I had to look up if I had missed something, but no they just never bring up how he survived. I saw a comment about how Nico Robin didn't actually kill him, and it made sense to me, but it was just like cmon don't do this weird subtle thing

I don't like how Pell died and it hardly seemed like anyone cared, only for it to not even matter because apparently he survived

I don't like how Kouza and Vivi had like zero interaction. They paint this whole backstory with the two of them and then that's it. Kouza was a wasted character imo. Literally just there to be a leader of the rebellion, which in itself didn't get much development. It was just sort of there to have a sort of enemy of the kingdom while there was a true enemy in the background.

In the battles between baroque works members, that was Usopp's weakest moment so far imo. Just getting hit with a bat and then being like don't laugh at your friends dreams.
Chopper didn't have much of a spotlight despite being the neweset member

I like how they made it so Nami actually did something, that was good, and the whole think with her staff was just funny.

And I liked how Zoro got some amount of development, although it felt kind of weak and not incredibly impactful

Sanji's whole thing with being Prince was great

Hina is weird. I don't like how she says Hina before some sentences. Like I get that character quirk, but it feels so weirdly done here.

I also just generally don't like the current cover story, but I also just don't really like Hachi's face lol

Then one thing that stood out to me that was more worrying than anything, and I don't know if this happened in the past and I just didn't notice it or didn't think much of it

The part where nami hits Usopp in the balls, making him fly up into the sky. I don't like that. It's saying that Nami Logically came to the conclusion that, if he was ball hurt he would jump 500 meters. That's something that||

but because it was used to literally solve a problem in the story it made itself into a logic

Oda had a huge problem with not killing characters in the present time. Dudes brutal as hell in flashbacks but when it comes to current characters he's too nice with them

Thankfully that's something he has fixed in the last few years

lol good, as weird as it sounds its more frustrating when characters dont die

It's just a character trope that I generally don't like, the "Beat me up all you want, I am friendship!" like

I loved before when Usopp pushed himself and overcame his fears to confront somebody, but here he was literally running away time after time

 

 

The Pell thing is something that gets discussed to hell and back all the time. On the One Piece server, someone even made the argument that Pell is a very fast diver, and that he dove into the explosion faster than it hurt him.
