I feel like the whole purpose was to grow beyond that and sort of reflect where they are in the end from where they are in the beginning, but I felt like it was more full-circle the way they ended on it being there

full circle ending, could've done without it but that wasn't the true ending. The true ending came like 10 pages before the last one

 

Now that I think of it, Naruto is probably the only story I've ever followed which I saw the ending

half of its characters and arcs were just kinda there then disappeared
