And i disagree on

your version of his death. He knows his daughter is dead and saw Ellie as the second chance he lost. Him being delusional and calling Ellie by his first daughters name is just an insult to both of the characters and all they went through. Joel had his self reflection right after the first game based on how part 2 started and he knows what he did is bad, doing that in another version at the end would be way too late

 

I hate arguing on my phone, takes ages to type and the amount of spelling errors to fix and miss is too much

so far I give the game a 8.5/10

because it's an impressive game on a technical level

and the voice acting is really good

 

I just hate the idea that joel went oh what I did was bad... whoopsies I guess I shouldn't do it again. It just demeans the ending of tlou1. This isn't a normal world where he's going to keep have those chances of reflection, he's out there trying to survive. He could only go down. Make him delusional, make him a leader of a roving band of bandits in order to keep Ellie safe. Literally anything, but don't make him sorry for what he did. Even if he didn't directly see Ellie as an extension of his daughter, Ellie was wildly important to him and should have become more of a driving force going forward, where he starts saying that it's for Ellie but his own mind deteriorates and he realizes what he's doing is only for himself. But it just wastes the ending of the first game to be like "Welp I did a bad but it's okay we'll keep living on from here" while ellie becomes some teenage rebel

I don't know how well/unwell it portrays lgbt but I figure more than anything else if it's done that poorly theyll hate on the characters and not the community itself
