I think the biggest boost to ghibli films popularity is that one of our free TV channels that everyone has access too plays ghibli films every Christmas and summer every year

So there's a lot of exposure there

It's certainly how I watched 90% of ghibli films

They slowly got rid of our free channels here.

i know a few people who've seen many disney and ghibli and they prefer one or the other

Most people I know think Ghibli movies are masterpieces
