Like how the infamous ORAS review actually made an interesting point about the game having an abundance of water based Pokemon, but then they reduced it to "too much water" and it resulted in a meme

What I dislike about the scoring system is that people just look at the scores instead of reading the review.

Naah, they need to tailor what kind of games the reviewers themselves usually like and then if the game was for them or not

As an example, if you like JRPG, was this a good game for you

Or if you don't like JRPGs in general, what did you think of it then

Because you find a reviewer who has similar tastes as you

If they like something then, then chances are you will too

It will not always align but you get something

maybe it's cuz my tastes are super niche but i don't entirely agree with that lol

A reviewer can't just say "if you like JRPGs then you will like this JRPG". Not all of them are the same game because they differ from a wide variety of stuff in each game.

and part of the video is basically why "Because you find a reviewer who has similar tastes as you" this is more important than any score

I think Otti has a point because there is always the risk that you'll put a reviewer who does not enjoy a certain genre to review a game in said genre and give it a lower score because of that.

It's like IGN and their Sonic Unleashed review.
