The movies even being released is much better than indefintely delayed

Oh yeah, that's sooo gonna help the theaters

It's just gonna push wb into streaming more

why does alice in borderland remind me of twewy 23 mins into it?

Technically it will, it will get more people in seats while buying concessions, which is what makes them more money than ticket sales.

that's not wb's fault though. they gotta make money somehow and to do that is via hbo max which will net them new subs

You are forgetting there's a freaking pandemic here

People are obviously gonna choose the streaming service for the price of two movie tickets than risking their goddamn life in a theater

I am sorry if I sound angry, this topic has just annoyed the firetruck outta me after seeing some of the filmmakers talking about this, especially Nolan

people said digital is the future... i guess the pandemic proved it is indeed the future

gotta also take into consideration that creating a home theater like setup isn't that expensive anymore
It's an upfront investment but long term it works out nicely

Nolans comment doesn't help the situation yes, Im just saying that they should've made sure that they would agree to it instead of forcing it on them at gun point.
Like I get theirs a pandemic going on, but at least make sure that everyone is fine with it before making that decision.

I get not notifying them about that is a shitty thing but that's as far as I can go with it

Is it bad I subconsciously expected the Warners to leap out of that image?

But anyway, thank God video games are my entertainment of choice. The film industry looks firetrucked six ways from Sunday. And good riddance, I say. Let the superior storytelling medium get the attention it deserves.

i think it's more so that the film industry needs to reevaluate how it works going forward since streaming is becoming more commonplace

even after this pandemic ends, theaters are gonna find it hard to become full again

I mean, that should've been thought about years ago. Streaming is already commonplace; this is just another nail in the coffin.

rim shot

I'm going to say the same thing I have for games: lower the budget.

Focus less on spectacle and more on story. It worked for TV, I don't see why it can't work for film.
