Err

FF already did animation

Warcraft on the other hand, shoulda gone full CG

What is going on in that trailer?

Stuff

seasalt_shinji

i honestly have no idea lol i can't understand. but the intensity and the expression has me so hyped lol

plus just the animation quality is top notch

ye FF did animated movies. But i should have specified, for the Netflix "live action" ffxiv show they are doing. I have seen ffxiv's cinematics... that shit is top notch!

I mean, lowkey, kinda wanna see how the live action turns out.. it could be good if they do it right

but the bigger races might end up use CG or smth

so imo they should stop trying to do live action and just use the budget and time to make a top notch full length CG movie

which wouldn't be too hard, if te budget is good enough to do something like.. forgive me, but like Avatar.. the actors are used as a basis for how a cahracter looks, and then they apply CG on top of their makeup and accesories

yea i assume there will be a fair share of CG in the show. but like... Warcraft is a good example.. they bombed what could have been a masterpiece if they just did it all CG... lol

well, warcraft is because it fell into the trap of "it didnn't feel real enough"

they tried to have CG orcs with live humans and that shit looked soooo out of place

like, even Gollum is starting to look outdated

the little guy from LOTR

well i just re watched LOTR the other day and it kind of blew me away of how well they were able to pull off live humans and CG characters in the same scene

especially for how old it is!

Oh yeah, it's impressive for what they did than, but CG I think kinda only holds up for so long, with like Gollum

The ones that are praacticay effects and such usually hold up better

yes, sure it had some rough parts. but the fact that a movie that is what.. 15 years old. still does it better than some current movies?

It's like the LoTR movies set an industry standard.

LOTR TV Show has a insane stupid amount of budget, they really have no excuse for the CG and other means.
Especially of what the films could do

yea then you look at the hobbit and how bad it looked with the CG orc

Though, CG is back and forth, tb.. because some films outright start to look outdated generally.. like look at Toy Story 1 compared to now

That dog was playdoh.. lol

haha yea like Hunt said. it will be hit or miss

Though, the thing about CG is that it kinda depends on how srylized it is

but IMO i would much rather see a full length CG cinematic masterpiece from Blizzard or SE, than a live action
