even though the hard mode is still there for them!

And, the hard modes are not touched

they're as hard as you expect the series to be

So nothing is actually ruined

Yeah, I heard that if a character dies they actually really die in-story

You can turn off perma-death if you put iton.. Casual mode, I think?

Though, personally, I like playing on Classic just for the extra factor of

"Okay.. if I frick up this map, I have to reset and do it better"

I don't get complaining about easier difficulties being introduced, be thankful they didn't mess with the hard difficulties like certain other games nort_eyes

ahem

I don't agree completely you know ?

but yes.. for fire emblem, they did not ruin the difficulty

And plus, another thing about the newer entries.. a lot of the reason they feel easier

Is because well... the new ones let you grind more freely

in past entries.. you have a set amount of earnable gold that is in the game

A set amount of level ups

A set amount of reclasses that you can actually do..

And limited encounters

My favorite part of RPGs is grinding to your hearts' content and making things easier for yourself

of course, Shadow dragons and a cople prior to it were doing away with that.. Awakening is the first time they completely did away with the limited resources shtick

And let players justs.. grind all they want

or play it how they want without worrying about

"oops..I used that at the wrong time, welp"

"Run ruined"

"I made a single mistake, time to redo the hour long battle"

laughsinnomura

yeah, you better believe that happens a lot, lmao

Imagine losing your best unit in a battle

And it's at the end

Oh, I'd be so mad if that happened to me

I loathe the feeling of wasted time and effort

yes, you see why the past entries just aren't as approachable? ?

they're good games,ofc

they can still be oplayed and you can enjoy them

But for a broader audence, well..

They can be kinda harsh and downright brutal

ofc, that can be a drawing factor and it has itsappeal

But that's kinda why Fire Emblem was fading out

being hard and brutal can definitely have appeal of course

look at FromSoft games

But for say.. a strategy game series?Well...

Yeah, sounds like it'd be kinda niche

And with the limited releases in the west it kinda was, I guess

yeah.. this entry? Is offically the 16tth entry, overal

But here in the west, we've only had like... half of them
