Just that turn-based isn't an automatic "Yup,series is better now"

You need to make turn-based interesting,like Persona,basically.. or Octopath,etc.. Not so uch because turn-based is uninteresting,but because it can become tedious,almost,for most.

There's no real strategy in turn-based sometimes anyway,because half the time its

"use your STRONGEST attack"

oh exactly.. lol there are many factors the come into play for 16 to be successful! do i think going back to turn based may help it succeed? sure! but if the story, and the fun is there regardless the combat style.. I think it will be a great game!
