If its free then it doesn't really count, its just extra content. But if it's locked behind a pay wall when you've already paid for the full game then there's no reason for that. Like FFXV. much of that should have been included on release

Apparently people take issues with that stance

I was kind of more against that idea of gaming as a service when I am expected to pay monthly fees for a game or games that will slowly release as parts over several years so the full game doesn't come out till 4 years or so after initial release of the first part which is what sounded like what SE wanted.

I don't mind when it's just a finished game getting updates or 1/2 more dlc packs to expand on what's there.

Yeah, but then you also have to think about the amount of money, the engine problems and how long FFXV was in development

Like, anthem is a negative example of why it can be exploitable

The ideal dlc would be one that is completely unnecessary for the initial base game and only enhances an already satisfying product, alas...

Delaying it would have cost more money, along with more manpower they could use on other games

SE isn't exactly struggling for money

But they aren't exactly made of money either

At some point, a product needs to be released

There's no way FFXV should have released as it did, that's all I'll say
