I mean they are targeting the handheld aspect sure but that doesnt mean they weren't aiming to have the performance and graphical fidelity target something that could work well on a home console considering the switch is both

And thats fine but like I said, I think the problem with how the game looks is honestly more to do with Pokemon's release schedules of late. I think for a main title pokemon game, Sw/Sh are still quite lacking. Even going after solely the handheld aspect of the switch you could do more.

I honestly think Gamefreak is just burned out on Pokemon in general

Seems like they are paying more attention to Town than pokemon

I dont think that was disney's idea.

SE were the ones who wanted to put 3 on xbox and ps4. And the handheld titles felt more like they were released on those consoles because the main teams were busy working on other titles while it was also cheaper to make. That and the fact that Nomura was essentially having a secondary team work on handheld titles so that when they needed someone else to work on kh3 they would have a team familiar with how to design one and one that Nomura envisioned

The change to Unreal Engine was because the Luminous Engine being unstable

As an example, look at Final Fantasy XV

Looks amazing, but they had huge issues when developing the game

Which is why the change ti Unreal Engine 4 happened

Disney barely showed much interest in KH prior to 3

Iirc, didn't Nomura say that they were getting more help and support from Epic from the other side of the world with UE4 than he got from Square itself with Luminous.
