So basically,
Dawn = 1-30ish goes by quicker
Midday = 40-70ish goes by quicker
Dusk (I think) = 70-100ish goes by quicker
I.e you get more exp during that set of levels

And weapon choice affects which abilities you get as seen in that chart

I always go for the staff

Which weapon you drop depends on which Stat tree you end up on, but it's super minor and not all that important

What diff are you playing?
And is this your first time?

It is my first playtrough but
Im experienced at hard games like
Darksouls
Cuphead
Super meat boy
And im gonna play kh in hardest mode
I know it look crazy but im gonna play it on hardest mode

There is no technical best choice but
Shield + staff + anytime of day is a good way to get some defensive abilities first
Sword + staff + dawn is also a common one I see
Staff + shield + midday isn't a bad way to go for magic users

Typically if I'm going on crit or proud, I like going Shield + Sword + Dawn
I lose a Stat of strength, but I like my magic and I need my defensive abilities asap

KH1FM sorta thrives on playing smart
You don't wanna waste your magic and you wanna make sure you time your attacks and guards because since Sora is heavy in this game, whiffing can hurt you

But it's overall much tamer than what you're used to
