Darkness would smell bitter but sweet
Light would smell like sunflowers, a subtle scent that wouldn't drive away anyone and instead welcome them

It’s could also just smelt burnt. Because Light can be so hot and bright it hurts.

Yeah Light is comforting but oppressive and Darkness is potentially destructive but liberating.
