It's less weird to call Sonic 1 retro than it is to call like Sonic Heroes retro

You can't apply a cut off like that to something that largely denotes age

like PS3 and XBOX 360 were the first consoles to use HDMI

being a true hd console

i would not consider that retro

high defintion i would call "Retro"

I'm just saying by 2030 dont be surprised when people are calling Red Dead Redemption retro lol

Retro lost its meaning

what's next in like a couple years they going to call the firetrucking DAB and fortnite retro?

I mean- maybe idk man I'm not a taste maker lol

I'm saying years from now, a decade or two

Bruh that's not what retro necesarally means though like that's not the term most people think of when they think of "Retro"

Right but you're saying retro should* *only refer to things up to a certain period of time

exactly because generally when i think of retro i think of old setups that look very primative like graphics

the 5th generation consoles are retro because the models were low poly

and had low quality textures

same for 6th gen just with way higher polygon models and slighty better textures like games like kingdom hearts 1 and 2

7th gen straight up uses high polygon models everywhere and high quality textures and being at a high resoultuon

The thing is is that Retro literally just denotes the age of something

It's not a term with much nuance to it outside of the aging populace's inability to grasp the things we liked becoming as old as us

I get that, but, something like retro isn't a static thing- at least I don't think so. I don't think "retro gaming or this and that" should have like a, idk I got shit vocabulary lol, gate-kept thing of like

"Oh you can only be retro if you're pre PS3"

Time doesn't work like that- everything ages, so, I don't think "retro" needs to just be things like VHS and Super Nintendos ya know? Just my take on it

i just can never accept such a statement... i mean its an HD console and you are calling it "Retro" just doesn't sit right with me

Like TF2, right? Team Fortress 2 and Half Life 2, those are retro to me. Metal Gear Solid 4 is approaching that too

KH1 is a retro game by the definition of the term retro game. The difference between retro games now and retro games 20 years ago. Is that what was retro 20 years ago wasn't well-preserved, physically or mentally, and there was a much bigger gap in aesthetics

It may not be retro to you personally but it is or will be to someone else

But Retro literally is just to denote the relative age of something

The Gamers ™️ use the term to strictly refer to shit like

super mario bros

or sonic 1

Also I'm not a mod or anything but, they'd want this moved to the other general

or castlevania on the nes

but its more correctly a much more general thing

lets move to another channel

Does anyone think we will get enhancement patches for the kh games ?
Like for ps5 ?
Or a final mix version for kh 3 on ps5 ?

no

I wish, but no

it wouId be nice to have a boxed version of ReMind though
