Why does every world in KH2 feel the need to have a forced minigame?

KH1 has like… the jungle slider ig?? Not really forced though but guided to it

Meanwhile KH:
Pushing the wardrobe and that thing with Mrs Potts and Lumière in the dungeon (Beasts Castle

The motivation bar and the selecting the training thing for what ever reason (LoD)

Oops no Drive Bar in underworld (OC)

Pete’s Boat section (TR)

Oops je can’t attack pirates unless I’m sunlight (which btw worst gimmick ever) (PR)

Throw presents at the Oogie boogie kids (HT)

Flying carpet segments… multiple of them… (Agrabah)

And finally no real minigame or gimmick in Pridelands cause I think the devs thought playing as a Lion was already bad enough

Not a single world goes by without a minigame or gimmick

I assume it's to make the worlds a bit interesting?

Just realized I forgot to list SP, which has the whole Tron cycle thing

And I forgot to list Atlantica which..,, should be obvious

But you see… KH1 has interesting world design without resorting to forced minigames. BBS has interesting level design without resorting to forced minigames. DDD has interesting level design without resorting to forced minigames. The list goes on really

Idk… I just don’t like the forced minigames on KH2. I was venting a complaint I have with KH2

I will forever ride the “KH2 actually sucks” (ghost) train

I will forever ride the "DDD is amazing" train

I also feel KH2’s combat relies too heavily on gimmicks

Worst example by far is Oogie Boogie, which focuses mostly on avoiding attacks until the game decides you’re allowed to damage him

Some other videogame bosses are literally glazed despite having the same issue Oogie Boogie has
