He fought against Braig because he thought Xehanort was kidnapped. The Sleeping Beauty was Maleficent mind controlling him.

In fact, i think terra was even outright told thar xehanort seemed suspicious

He may have no reason to completely mistrust him but neither was there any reason for him to completely trust him

I guess that's fair to say

Look, it's perfectly valid to show how terra isn't an idiot, I agree that he isn't, just naive and trusting. But there's a limit to how many times someone can make the same mistake regarding one person and still not be deemed as stupid
