i think guardando nel buio is peak orchestral kh

Yesss

There exists not a better version of this track imo

this to me will always be my peak of the kh orchestral soundtracks

this to me will always be my peak of the kh orchestral soundtracks

Fun fact, Bizkit047 has a few Sephiroth hack videos from over a decade that used Guardano Nel Buio. I watched those videos so often that I began to associate the track more with those videos

SHOWDOWN AT HOLLOW BASTION! NOW WE'RE TALKING!

The most bombastic the series has ever gotten. What an incredible set of seconds.

KH2's boss themes man. Forever relishing in sexiness

i feel like this songs original and 2.5 remix version are kind of equal, because while this version sounds great, the original used more viola. And I love viola in my boss themes

Apart from the boss theme for Stormrider, the Experiment and Groundshaker. That theme's kinda underwhelming.

violas are natrually associated with evil in a theme

btw on the topic of midi instruments sometimes being the right choice, this is a great example of where that can be true from another series

the midi guitars being mixed with modern synths and the occasional live track gives off a really cool tone

brings back the classic jrpg feel

there are definitely some kh tracks that do this kind of stuff that gets taken away a bit when it's all done in one style

i think this is why kh 3 soundtrack did not slap the way it should

its all just orchestral tracks

kh3 had way too many reused tracks

and can get away with calling it "fanservice" instead of lazy

why is night of fate being spammed in kh games now

i dont get it

its literally THE night of fate

not "every tuesday of fate"

Yoko does great but she needs to add more midi and synths to her tracks and not be 100% orchestra. you lose a lot of impact without synths

i think one of the biggest detractors is actually their sound designer

the production of kh tracks leaves a lot to be desired, especially when compared to Face My Fears which is produced incredibly well

handing that side of the track over to skrillex really shows the difference in techniques

whoever they have doing the mixing and mastering of the compositions makes things often sound like they are either flat, or have a chunk of the sonic space misssing from the composition

see yokos soundtrack in ff15 knows when there should be synth and orchestral music

ff15 is to me one of yokos best soundtracks

When else was night of fate even used outside of that one fight in twilight town? Other than CoM I guess but the way the story was it wouldn’t make much sense to have the happy cheery DI theme

i thought night of fate played twice in kh3, and also in DDD

might be wrong about that
