And it brings you to the next spot

then you go left along the side

Made it to the great crest. I think I just went backwards and got lost somehow.

You must have fallen down or something

Because there's a lift stop that takes you to the other side of the great crest

so you can lower the platforms

there's two electrified switches with red electricity that raise and lower these

one is on the left side and the other is on the right.

Yeah

I hated that world when I first played KH1. It seemed large and complicated.

Made it to the top of those two big platforms. I hit the switch, though I remember doing that already.

I get that kind of feeling from a lot of new games I play.

Did you enter the lift stop before the chapel area?

Does it need to be orange or blue?

You only need to turn on the switches once each. You might be moving an optional platform. There's one that changes the direction of an earlier lift but you don't need to use it

You only need to make the platforms make a stairway to the ledge above the crest. Then there's a way back inside the castle which takes you through the lift stop again. It's just a walk through to the chapel

Yeah you don't need to move that

That platform is behind a bookcase in the library.

Indeed, the library lift stop leads up there, and switching it means you can access the other side of it

Both sides just have chests anyway

Generally, if you follow a linear path, you can make it up if you choose to avoid the side paths

The chests themselves don't have anything too important iirc

Maybe a Gale or something

Hollow Bastion is a very imposing place when you first visit it

It's probably the most interconnected world in KH1
