I never stick to my opinions so I’m definitely not based laughsinnomura

I'll agree with you on that Nova, mainly because gameplay goes beyond just pure combat and also involves other key components like movement and world design

Yeah

A lot of the time people mean gameplay = combat

Which is fine but I prefer to use it to mean any gameplay mechanics

There’s just something weird about KH1 walk/jump animations

I’m not sure what it is really

To be fair Nova, who can blame people for thinking that way in a post-KH2 society

Base kh1 jump Sora splays his legs out like a frog and it can feel pretty weird when you're not used to it

Yeah true Esto

Usually you can tell the context

KH1’s Hollow Bastion is pretty cool

I terms of game design

Hollow Bastion is amazing

The atmosphere is nailed down to a T and I've rarely ever seen a place that really made me feel like I'm breaking in like HB did

Not something I had seen since Grunty Industries in Banjo-Tooie

They really make it feel huge despite the technology at the time

Not only though visual indicators but with connective rooms

Yup. Despite it being annoying sometimes, the fact that when you fall from the tower you go to the lower section next to the basement rather than just falling into a bottomless pit was something I always found cool.

That's really cool for sure

It's all so cleverly put together

Like the lift stop being one huge room that you consistently pass though to give you a sense of scale and progress

Yeah, and also hitting the switches to get the lift to go different places.

whenthedarknessisjustright

That one switch half way up the castle that changes the direction of the lift that goes from the library to the top

One of my favourite puzzles, it's so cool when you first worked it out

It's like something straight out of a Zelda dungeon

Except that one stupid puzzle that can't be solved

I spent ages down there trying to find a way and I gave up and searched it up

Turns out there's nothing there

Yeah, that was just nasty

I wish they had changed it for 1.5

But oh well

Also isn't there a chest in the room next to the portal in the basement where you can see a chest you can't actually get to?

Don't remember that one

Idk if that's the one you can get from the big area you get to from the lift stop

Actually I might play some kh2 today so I can go on kh1 and have a look in a sec

You haven't finished KH2 yet?

Also can I just say how BADDASS it is that Beast is just there in the world and joins you

That's something that Disney definitely wouldn't allow today

Not even close to finishing haha
