Really? That's weird

Yep. I thought they were insane back then as well

BBS was 'fresh and new' and challenging, unlike the filthy KH2 for casuals

BBS was the hot shit when it came out
Mind you this was before 2FM really took off in the west

I still think vanilla 2 is miles and miles ahead of BBS

So in comparison BBS felt fun and exciting in comparison to Vanilla KH2

Vanilla KH2 got a lot of flak for gameplay back then

Glad the fandom eventually caught up with the concept of taste

Part of me wants to try a crit no commands run of BBS

That sounds straight up boring

If you have the most useful abilities, it won't be difficult, it will just drag on

The one thing that will suck is command melding to get abilities

I do enjoy bbs's command deck but it's definitely not the kind of game that ages well. Ahem, the scene where all of the guests are supposedly enjoying the ball... but the ballroom is empty...

I'm going to hit the nipples off of Xemnas!

bbs is my softspot bc it was the first game in the series i had to wait for and i replayed it so many times, imo it didn't age too poorly but it definitely feels out of place compared to the newer c.deck games

I'd say days is the poorly aged one

just bc the battle system and mission based gameplay make it so hard to go back to

for me

as for aging well, i guess recoded? it'll never get a pass for the story but the gameplay is incredibly nuanced for its limitations at the time tbh

Opinions on Days’ gameplay haven’t changed at all. A lot of people enjoy it and a lot of people don’t, still in equal amounts. However, I think more people have grown to appreciate the writing more and more, as it has easily the strongest of the series

from what I've seen, its been about the same for the story as well. everyone loved it, but knew the gameplay held it back, still about the same amount as when it first came out. i didn't see much actual hate on days unless it's purely for the gameplay and still don't

Well the fact that everyone desires a Days remake so badly causes more people to vocalise their love for the story and characters, I think

tru

a remake with a great battle system would put the game really high on people's kh rankings universally i think

I honestly wouldn't want them to alter the mission system at all, as it suits the storytelling. Just redesign the bosses, maybe alter a few of the less interesting missions and that's all I really need

Days already has the good story and characters, so seeing a remake with proper gameplay would shoot it to a new level

But yeah it'd have to maintain the day to day mission system, it was the main form of pacing

The problem is that Days was also made to be played in short sessions

Soo it'd be hard to make a console version of a game like that

I see people say that a lot. But every time I play through Days, I finish the entire game in like 3 days

give us an online multiplayer mode pls

they screwed us with bbs in the hd collections lmao

all in one on pc one day

maybe

Days but it’s a Persona game is a super appealing concept to me
