Could Re:MIND Make Young Master Xehanort Playable?

Posted

Hey, guys. With the news about a new trailer for Re:MIND coming next week, I've been thinking about the coming DLC and I had a sudden thought. We've seen that Riku and Aqua will be playable in their respective battles against the New Organization XIII, and we've also been given a new playable character to KHIII: Roxas! We also know that there will be some history shown between Young Master Xehanort and the Master of Masters, who sends YMX on a quest (a "World Tour"), as our beloved MoM puts it. So this got me thinking: could YMA be another playable character in Kingdom Hearts III Re:MIND? Maybe we actually get to control Young Xehanort as he visits each world, maybe even fight some heartless or a mini-boss or two. I know that the chances are pretty miniscule, but I think it could be pretty cool. It's also possible that they'll keep this a secret and not show it in any trailers. Remember how no one knew that you could play as Aqua when fighting Vanitas in the Land of Departure? This could be a similar situation. What do you guys think? Could you see this happening?

Yeah, I remember that. And you could be right; they actually could give Xehanort some kind of clarification that makes people see it that way.

people be dumb it seems

As long as the content is interesting enough, I'm for it. Like I would enjoying playing as Young Xehanort in how he selected the other members of the Organization, and actually going to get or corrupt them. I think that would be very fun while also expanding on characters that really need it, and why they are in the new group. Now that would be worth playing. However if it's just to explore Xehanort's backstory, then honestly I'm not that interested given how the character ended. Not saying I wouldn't want it, it just wouldn't be a big selling point for me right now.

Honestly, I really don't to play as any version of Xehanort. I think he's gotten too much exposure and Nomura's tried to hard to make him seem sympathetic, when he's not at all. I'd much rather play as Kairi.

Really hoping for Kairi

It would be pretty awesome if we could get the chance to control Xehanort! It would literally be another side to another story! And I'm hoping that since the Master Of Masters is in the trailers, that it hopefully means he'll have more than one scene in the DLC!
