We're too compromising, we shouldn't be saying "I'd give up Arendelle for Radiant Garden and Twilight Town" or "give Riku's screen time to Kairi" even though I would, but we should be able to have all these things. It's not like this is the small franchise nobody at Square cares about anymore, they absolutely are able to make good big games

Even DDD had the previous standard baseline for a KH game

I understand that's not an excuse and more of a reasoning but it's something that should be fought against

It's like Nomura got bored with Kairi after KH1 and decided to shaft her for Naminé, then Xion, and then Aqua.
