The original ansem i found to be somewhat ambivalous of xehanort

So driven by darkness he actually accepted the name ansem to throw away the old him

Xemnas in alot of ways doing the same

I still think that xehanort was not fully in control of ansem and xemnas' actions back in kh 1 and 2

Ansem kinda developed that attitude post DDD because of his final defeat by riku

He realized at this point his powers were no longer applicable to the more matured and stronger heroes

Xemnas and xehanort are alot like sora and roxas

If i remember correctly they said he woke up with no memories of his past life when he was made at some point

Its not like with terra where he fully possessed him, xigbar has a tiny piece

Its more like he used ansem and xemnas as ways he could potentially live forever, but after being fully restore and losing terras heart, it wouldnt work again

Maybe he Will simply off himself and vecome a somebody again

Thing is heartless dont form right next to a person, they form in the realm of darkness

So like technically a heartless could be anywhere

No that happebed but it was kind of a special case where thendarkness grabbed it and it reformed right there

So like their nobodies also tend to form in other places

Since one formed and existed for a while then went back in time or whatever

I like to imagine that xehanort in apprentice norts subconscious was slowly driving his body to this point

Like apprentice xehanort did lose his memory, but also went insane from these experiments and ansem and xemnas never learned the full truth of their plans until it DDD

Even when ansem went back in time I doubt he was all there

He likely gave himself the gift of time travel not even referring to him as xehanort

Likely ansem actually called himself ansem

And simply stayed in that cave for years slowly going to madness contemplating the powers of darkness

See heres the thing from a writing stand point master xehanort and apprentice xehanort never had any scenes showing MX was really "in control"

Its always somewhat been heresay

Like xehanort was pulling the strings from within his own mind that had locked him away
