Yeah but Terra and Aqua were the only ones that changed throughout the story. From Earthshaker to Ends of the Earth and Rainfell to Stormfall. And then they suddenly went back to their previous ones in Remind

not exactly true, because there is a cutscene in kh1 that introduces the keychains

so they are indeed a canonical thing

and you get oathkeeper when kairi gives sora the good luck charm in kh1

so canonically sora has oathkeeper in kh2 technically the entire time if he wanted to

eh maybe, but then again the keychain thing is a factor that plays into bbs characters upgraded keyblades so who knows

also i think there was originally an animation in kh3 where sora switched the keychains on his keyblade to switch them

which also must mean drive forms are canon

honestly i generally think most of what happens in gameplay is canon to the characters

the guy can do it without consuming goofy in cutscenes

in gameplay it always feels like sora is absorbing goofy into himself to transform in kh2

when he says "give me strength" I thought that he was being quite literal
