So far my favorite parts of re:mind are the playable characters, explorable Scala, the Guardians of Light vs Xehanort and the Story adding more to the original plot making it feel more complete.

But that's still a very weird distinction

Well, when you differentiate it like that

Gameplay content vs story content

That makes sense

But then it is still content

Even then remind has a lot of you rewatching cutscenes

laughsinnomura

That is true

And it's something I don't really appreciate

But it does have some new things in them from time to time

It does

Like

Kairi going toe to toe with Xemnas

But really, Remind is only great after the KBG is over

Yeah I would think so

All the best moments come from after that

Except

Roxas' return getting expanded upon, that was also good

It also depends who you are I guess. For me story is less important than gameplay and playable content by quite a lot

I mean, we're talking about Kingdom Hearts here

If you don't enjoy the story that means you don't enjoy 50% of what the game has to offer

Don't enjoy as in, don't enjoy it nearly as much as the gameplay

Yeah, which is probably why the poor story doesn't get me down as much as it does other people

hadesthink

Nice trade off, actually

"I don't enjoy the story as much as others do and therefore it doesn't annoy me when it sucks"

:gandalfwhite:

I wish I could be like that pain

Instead of constantly saying "I don't care anymore" and constantly dunking on it at the same time

Though Remind did please me a lot in terms of story so you could say I care again

But how do you feel about the future?

Well

Some things are looking up, some others are not

Yozora

getting more involved in the story is good because I find his character interesting and his premise is also just as interesting

On the other hand Kairi is still a concern to me because I have the sneaking suspicion that she'll get left behind again

I am just expecting that of Kairi from now on

Yeah I can't help but feel they're giving her moments in this just to go "Okay well you got what you wanted, back to Sora and Riku adventures"

Can't be disappointed if I don't expect anything from her

:axelshrug:

Luxord driving that car is literally my favourite moment laughsinnomura

I mean, it's not like I expect anything from her

I just want her to do things, I want her to be involved

So even though I don't actually expect it, it still pains me when it doesn't happen

It shouldn't be a lot to expect from what the second character that speaks in a cutscene, in the series?

Well, it depends on what is done with the character after that

The issue is that we are constantly told that she'll do something and then she doesn't

In KH2 she gets a keyblade, and in 3D she does nothing.
But then at the end of 3D we are told that she is going to train... and in KH3 se does fight to some extent but then Nomura decided that using her as a damsel and subsequently fridging her was easier

It wouldn't be as painful to see her left behind if at least we weren't told that the contrary would happen every time

It's funny how in KH1 she wanted to come along but Sora says she'd get in his way, which is true, she can't fight at that point.

But now she can but

she's just in a coma now being studied

Yeah, it's actually a very nice moment and it shows that Kairi isn't just a heckless tomboy and recognizes her own limitations

Also yeah Nova, that is what worries me

But like, yes, if Nomura doesn't actually want to do anything substantial with her character that's fine even if disappointing, I would just like it if he stopped setting her up to be someone substantial in the future

Which the end of Remind actually doesn't do, so

Who knows oletteuh
