Glad to see you enjoyed it! Who did you get in chapter 14 when going outside the house at night with Cloud?

Personally, I'm very even on it. To me, it depends on what future games will do. Right now I'm not especially hopeful or worried, just cautious

Finished the game yesterday. I never played the original, but I know some of the big events that happen in the original game, like Cloud's psyche being a mess because of Zack and Aerith dying and Sephiroth being an experiment and the attack on Nibelheim and...well you get it.

Gameplay was AMAZING. Feels like a true evolution of the latest FF games. It took some elements from XIII, maybe a little inspo from XV and some elements from OG FF7 and blended and balanced everything perfectly.

Story was pretty good. As a "partial" newcomer who doesn't really have the nostalgia factor to contribute to my enjoyment, I did feel like the pacing was a little slow at times, but the characters and the intrigue made up for it. And the ending, wow. I did not expect that. Very meta in a way... I liked it though.

I don't think they're going to deviate heavily from the original game in future installments but I think they've created a good intrigue to keep players invested. Smart move. I'm actually more excited to see what's next on that front than on the KH front, which is weird cause I've always been a bigger KH fan than FF fan.

Glad to see you enjoyed it!

Who did you get in chapter 14 when going outside the house at night with Cloud?

I got Tifa. It was such a good scene. She's the highlight of my playthrough for real, such a good character. Who did you get?

Tifa too, although I liked the Barret one a lot

Wait, there was a Barret one?

Yeah, if you don't do anything with the girls then you get a Barret scene too

There's like a hidden point system based on it

Oh, I thought it was entirely dependent on who you wake up first in the sewers. ?I felt like the game was really pushing Tifa and Cloud as a pairing so I kinda just went along with it.

How'd you guys feel about the ending?

I have some concerns as this game is going for more than 2 parts at least. I hope it doesn't go for more than 3. I am also worried what they will use as the final boss in part 2, cause part 1 was pretty bonkers and fighting sephi again as the final boss in part 2 will be too much

I did enjoy the ending otherwise

My concern is it feels like they are feeling very restricted by ff7 itself so they are trying to break it out into something different which begs the question why make a remake in the first place

Money for the most part

I mean yeah of course that's the overall goal

there was a demand for it tbh

I coulda lived without it. I'd rather they focus on FF16 because it seems like FF7R is gonna take up 10 years or so of time..... I can't deal with 5 games of shenanigannery

nah

games take a lot longer to make now

which kinda upsets me that 7r is likely going to be the focus for give or take 5 years at the very least. Not the biggest fan of it but eh
