So something i like with the OG combat is that the limit break bar is kept for the next battle, it doesn't just reset like in 7R

Weird, normally one or two thunder3 should be enough, you just use it to remove the blades then you can go ham

try switching to a weapon that adds MP and equipping a MP materia or 2

you can use chakra for healing to save some too
