I have an idea how to make disc 1 fit on one game

1) teach square enix how to use COMPRESSION
2) remove the world map. Just make it a hallway simulator. Really I mean it, make it a linear game and you'll be able to fit in everything important. It's gonna suck, but that's how it'll have to be

world map is designed to not be fully explorable

Just block off some of the areas and it's all good

Like, you can't go to the icy mountains in part 2 but you can go around it and so on

id actually like to backtrack and more side quests pls just not stupid ones like the dart, the pullups and squats

granted you could still be level 23 and still beat the game at level 23

It works in part 1 because the story is pretty straightforward in Midgar. You blow up a few reactors and move on to other stuff. Leaving Midgar opens up the world as you can do different stuff depending on the area you are in.

The question I have is

There isn't an issue in making the world open in the next game unless they make it overly complicated
