I'm pretty sure this is what we call a filler but in terms we be getting the setup of the next saga. Treat it as Kairi',s DDD. She goes to sleep the game plays couple of cutscene finding out the hidden memories then at the end they act (riku helps) and she finds out who the figure is (xehanort) and then cliffhanger laughs in Nomura
