Much like anything Nintendo, they technically have done achievements. Granted, nothing comparable to Playstation trophies or Xbox achievements where they're a core part of the system and every game is designed to have them (afaik), but there are individual games that have their own achievement systems (animal crossing, Bayonetta, etc.)
