I got so done with AC when I heard that they killed off the main antagonist that transcends the entire timeline in a comic

…a sequeI?
Guessing this is Sony? Kinda looks like their animation style
Spider-Verse and K-Pop Demon Hunter animation style
More like a reimagining in the current day. -# Seeing maybe one or two red flags there
Was there ever sequels to Charlie in the chocolate factory novels? I know a lot of old stories like this tend to only get their first book adapted
Oh boy LOL https://vxtwitter.com/CallofDuty/status/2044830135803928629?s=20
Far as I remember there was only 1-- Charlie, Wonka, and the grandpa travel the world or space in the glass elevator or somwthing lol
From minimal research it sounds like yeah the glass space elevator is the sequel book and there was a third one plan but never written Probably more information but that requires more than a single Google search
I can't remember what the series is called at the moment genuinely but the Dorothy wicked witch of the West series also had a sequel novel that was basically a trans story. Fight club also has sequels believe it or not. It's fascinating how only the first part usually gets adapted and that just what becomes culturally known

Charlie and the Glass Elevator
IIRC, the Roald Dahl estate legally forbids anyone to make a film out of Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator.
With how Top Gun: Maverick performed, I'm not surprised.
no, thats a silly name
My bad, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. Missed the great
The thing that stands out here is "why are the kids standing in his way?" It's not like the ones from the original story were like, undercover saboteurs or something. What, are they gonna say that he's exploiting the oompa loompas, or that his factory isn't eco-friendly, or that sugar is evil, or just basic anti-corporation sentiment? Any of that ending up as the actual story just smacks of "we could've just done an original story but instead we put the skin of a beloved ip on it and tried to pass that off as a sequel"
ha ha ha... oh Hawk, don't you understand? We simply must take this established IP, and give it a sarcastic, cynical coat of paint as to make a grander point-- by taking something that exists permanently in the cultural hive mind, and re-adapting it, but adding in commentary about our modern world, which the original (kind of) did anyway, we are actually super big kid on the playground smart.
Because we're taking something, and applying tired old internet millennial head-canons to them, and selling it! It's like making money off of fanfiction; like if Stephanie Meyer, Cassandra Clare, and E. L. James never changed the names! In the next Mario movie, it's gonna be about the Goombas trying Mario for inhumane war crimes, and Peach is gonna bravely come out and say Mario is her true harasser, not Bowser. We're so fucking SMART man
https://www.ign.com/articles/willy-wonka-animated-movie-announced
"Having served his time, Wonka returns to his factory determined to add a little sweetness to a bitter world," reads an official blurb. "But one thing stands in his way: teenager Charlie Paley (Connor) and his friends. Facing eviction, this next generation of 'rotten' kids plot to break into the factory, nab a priceless Wonka Bar, and save their homes. But like many before them who enter the fantastical world of the factory, these kids are in for a bit more than they can chew..."
