see now if we wanted to have a discussion of "old vs new" thats a little more balanced in the newer favor Persona 3 is a good example- where I personally don't think there's bad performances, Reload has, on a technical lever "better" voice acting, but is it "better?"

That's a more interesting convo to me than Remake vs Comp

I just despise people using "nostalgia" as an argument. I have seen it so many times just for liking how some story segments are done in the original compared to the remake in 7.

I never paid attention to how the recast happened there but yeah I can imagine how it goes with the persona people

Been seeing some for p4 too

Can't wait to experience this with the P5 remake in 5 years

And what people don't realize is- eventually it creates a situation where it turns from preference to hate; eventually it goes from

"ah ya know Remake is good but I like the OG more from some things" to

"I am so sick and fucking tired of everyone telling me its purely nostalgia for why I like the original more- you know what fuck it YEAH, I think Remake sucks- i don't but that's how I'm being made to feel."

Its like Kingdom Hearts 3-- there are people who like it purely to spite the people that hated on it so hard, and in turn, people will hate on 3 harder to spite the people who liked a game they didn't-- for whatever valid or superficial reason

and on and on the cycle continues 😔

ngl im being petty with that-- so many P4 fans were assholes to P4 fans having problems with Reload and ive seen so many be like "oh-- I get it now, sorry" lol

I have seen people attack kh1 fans using the same reasons and it's always so weird for people to look down on them for having a preference

I LOVE KH weather they low or high I love it all

LOL!!! No I swear I love Japan 😭 I just pay more attention to the English VAs for video games

(Except the mobile games that is Satan's spawn)

It makes sense for more isolated franchises- like FF or something, but KH is too imo intrinsically connected to justify people to have essentially turf wars online when it comes to the games

I mean it was more about it being their favorite, not the only one they liked

Ff is Anthology so yeah that is understandable

But it's also the literal first KH game so it wouldn't even be that weird to only like that one

Like I get why FF6 and 7 fans argue with each other-- but like, KH1 and 2 fans? Idk somehow to me that makes less sense

Like yeah they're different games but there's tangible connections between each one
