I got so done with AC when I heard that they killed off the main antagonist that transcends the entire timeline in a comic

I mean

it's a PS1 game

ofc it's not graphically good

Polygonal chibi's hit hard with that one yeah😂

Funny how no one makes the same argument for 2D games. Oh right. Because most 8 and 16-bit games actually look good by today’s standards.

Look, I’m sorry, but you won’t convince me low poly looks anywhere near good unless it’s HEAVILY stylized. And even then, if you’re making a deliberate choice to look antiquated, you better have a good reason for it.

And you're not gonna convince me that outdated or outdated looking graphics are valid reasons to not play rad games

It's our history dog; deserves to be observed and preserved

more than that, comparing PS1 graphics to PS2 and beyond is Iike comparing NES to SNES or Master System to Genesis

FF7 is the Ieast detaiIed of the PSone FF games, hence they massiveIy improved just a game Iater

Well I mean games like the EDF series are graphically outdated like ps2 standard but the gameplay and features hold up pretty well

no cIue what this game’s about, but it does not Iook outdated

gonna use a certain nerd’s words here

cIassic is something that did what it did reaIIy weII, and you can aIways go back to it and appreciate it

outdated* is something you *never wanna go back to because it never did what it tried weII

Right, I just think some people point a lot to budget AA title games like this one that they are not graphically up to date like most modern games, but I still sometimes think that should not matter as long the gameplay and it features are on par with most modern AAA titles.

ye looks very good
unknown.png

only reason why it looks "good" is because tetro 8-bit and 16-bit it in

tho I do have to say... Minish Cap

god this game is gorgeous
unknown.png

also keep in mind that PS1 wasw the first 3D console

NES wasn't

and... no-one is saying that Atari games look good...

hm h
unknown.png

beautiful???

Leamax pIs

you know what game is firetrucking gorgeous tho

Minish Cap

honestly

such a god damn gorgeous game

kingdom hearts

absoIuteIy true

stiII have no idea how Capcom just decided to make such a good Iookin sprite game

IKR?!?!

low key just... probably my fav Zelda game ever

visually, gameplay just everything

it’s the essence of what l Iove about 2D game animations

I thought they did well with Oracle of Seasons and Ages too actually

the best Zelda games aren't even made by Nintendo

I mean they made a decent Jojo fighting game and DnD games😆

The reason it looks good is because it was designed with the system’s limitations in mind; which FF7 wasn’t. It was trying to be something it was not capable of being.

3D gaming has only gotten good in the past decade, and that’s because it’s taken us that long to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
