KH1 is an old game so of course it has aspects worse than the newer games.

as for the non party members like towa, there is an event near the end of the game where you can choose one person for something

and their availability is dependent on your bond

For stuff like this I don't want to do it really on whatever is the best I just go with whatever character I want to see more of

And if I ever do a second or third playthrough then I'll play optimally

also on NG+

you get the option to have unlimited bond points

though you have ng+ points to spend amongst various stuff you want

It's kind of like Persona I got this although I understand the FOMO people feel with things like that
