For context, if you want a laugh, this dude for weeks now has been loudly proudly talking about how he's gonna play that new HP game, and is being particularly loud and smug about it.

It's the most engagement he's ever gotten, and, now those kind of gamers are getting his back, it's something to see.

💀

So wait are we not allowed to like HP anymore?

you like what you want and ignore psychopaths

i've tried the playstation stars thing, it's just a big scam as planned

you get 5 bucks for every 125 spent or you save for "free" games, but there is only 5, and it's between 625 and 1500 euros spent to get one

and if you want bonus points you kinda have to buy games anyway

It's a long story cause of all the J.K. stuff

I admit the boycot thing is a mess but people have legit reasons to dislike JK lol

Why must we always find out about these things after the cancellation

It's a big mess to try and deal with, honestly. Most of the hp fans raving about the game tend to also be the ones who just dismiss Rowling and what she believes (or actually agree with her), and those on the polar opposite side are too extreme and essentially demonize anyone playing the game.
In reality, many people like the game for what it is (a harry Potter game) and don't much care about the politics surrounding the situation. While people shouldn't get flack for enjoying something, it's definitely telling when a person decides to just not pay attention to someone who's against human rights.
I think people who still enjoy HP just need to be prepared to, at some point in time, weigh in on where they fall on everything. It can only be put off for so long. The longer people buy HP stuff, the longer Rowling stays in the limelight and gets to spread her ideas with greater ease, which in turn causes harm to marginalized groups

(if HP as a franchise could somehow be emancipated from Rowling, though... But that ain't happening anytime soon)

I know i'm gonna get jumped on if i say anything here

very annoying

i mean, you can't call someone defending the rights of women all over the world "against human rights" that's so blown out of proportion
