I got so done with AC when I heard that they killed off the main antagonist that transcends the entire timeline in a comic

But dude was a firetrucking wet blanket

in the game he's worse

the p3 mc is probably my favorite

really like how they used his backstory, bit more than 5's

the p2 protags are by far the least self insert if you're counting the early ones

I am just baffled by what Hunt said. How did Atlus think that P4 protag had "too much" personality.

idk

he's a bit of meme in the anime i guess

also in the arena games, Q games and dancing all night, he stopped being silent

that might be what they're talking about

the P5 MC is the only protag who's still silent to this day ?

P3 male and female protags and P4 MC are not silent in Q2

whereas in Q2, the p5 mc is the overall protag and is still silent

You haven't answered yet tho, what open world games do you think have a self insert character

Okay yeah fair

Zelda games have always been self insert the developers said that's the intention

for xvi i would really rather not

Rather not what

but I don't see them as self-insert, more as a chose your story

Your backstory is very minimal so it's easier to put yourself in their shoes and then you choose what happens based on your choices

Your backstory is very minimal so it's easier to put yourself in their shoes and then you choose what happens based on your choices

You even create a character to look like what you want them to be

in games i always prefer established characters with their own story that you don't shape. Pre-determined basically

yeah what i want them to be, not what I want to be

Hmmm

I guess that's a distinction

I guess both are possible in these kind of games so it's nice

but for story-heavy games yes, established character way better

I used to really despise character creation but I've kind of grown on to it somewhat with 14

It works on FF14 as it's an MMO

Point of the whole thing is to create your own character and then play with other people who created theirs

I feel like that's a little like that's true yeah but it also enforces the stereotype that a MMO like 14 doesn't have a heavy of a story as other final fantasies people usually look at it and they think it's not like any other game in the series when it's in fact probably the most classic Final Fantasy we've had since 9

i do really wish 14's story was in single player experiences with an established main character at least

The developer has said he is willing to do a single player spin off but you know if that's ever going to happen that's a different story
