Why is it that so many want FF to go away from what it started as

I am not saying to not try new things, that's a seperate conversation

But actively wanting it to go away from it's roots is so weird to me

cause i remember how in an old interview some ff devs said they wanted to do arpg ff back when they were making games for the ps1 but it was limiting including ff7 devs

they should just do both. RGG did a great job regarding this

And yet they continued all the way up to 10 when there were plenty of chances to do action before that
