I love Final Fantasy discussions when people who love Final Fantasy participate in it. Someone asked me if we technically genocide an entire dream world in FFX. The characters there clearly show that they work like real people and then we talked about KH2 and data twilight town. If we treat people like Namine or Data Sora as real people does that mean Ansem created real people out of data. Then the discussion turned into wheter an algorithm that mimics a real person should be treated as a real person

I still have hope for this fandom

SE probably never thought about this while writing these stories

but it's crazy how big the cultural relevance is nowadays

Voice actors are on a strike and didn't know about this happening at all. It was a deal that went behind their back while they are on strike.

But this isn't the average consumer making the choice. This is the union that's supposed to represent the workers. They are supposed to help the workers in this situation, not go behind their backs and make deals like this.

If we look into the future I can believe that this decision was made in good faith for the workers. Everything in the future will be dictated by AI and the decision they made protects them in advance. VA rn don't want AI at all but you can't prevent AI

I understand why this is upsetting for them but I think ppl need to stop with coping and come to terms with the fact that AI will influence a lot of jobs negatively in the future.

I heavily disagree. Right now is the time to fight back and get some regulation worked on this. You aren't wrong that AI will continue, but that doesn't mean to just let it happen willy nilly.
