imo, it feels a bit weird since it's still an atlus game. it's like if pokemon company released a new game that wasn't pokemon or related at all but was a turn-based monster battling game with elements

I mean, SMT is a thing and is that a persona game? or is a persona game considered an SMT game?

bloodborne / dark souls ?

Also another valid comparison

i haven't played any persona games so metaphor to me is just a jrpg with a calendar

closest have played i think are atelier games, also that schoolgirls game "blue reflection"

smt came first, so i think it's more appropriate to call persona an smt game in that case

so does that make metaphor an SMT game?

Like I think at this point, it's just semantics

Like look at ubisoft, they make a bunch of open-world games, but they aren't all a part of the same series or franchise ya know

Yeah I'm on Coles side- saying Metaphor "just persona" is like saying KH is FF or something.

People are just salty at Persona 5 for being popular. Thats really what it comes down to lol

you had me at first snake

idk man, i look at all the souls games from from and i don't see much in terms of sameness (aside from the direct sequels), they manage to differentiate their stuff enough. i look at ubisoft's stuff and, for the most part, it's the same thing. but whenever talk about persona and smt and metaphor come up, it all just blends together for me

No offense, but that feels like a personal issue

i'll get hate for this, but it's like call of duty in that sense

Ok that's crazy hold on

I need you to elaborate on that just a bit more

....

Hawk i trusted you

Your takes...

well that was your first mistake, lol

If we are talking from soft all of those games are hella different from each other, art design and such

The mechanics are similar but they have different mindsets it's hard to explain unless you've played them

Look at Lies of P everyone said "this is just Bloodborne' until they played it and it's a hella unique title

but that wasn't fromsoft right?

True- I branched off into soulslikes as a whole mb

This is extreme but Sekiro and Bloodborne are not the same game lol

Elden Ring is totally different than DS 1-3 and not just cause you can jump lol

Yakuza with Judgment too

Which is also by Sega

Judgment is totally different than Yakuza ye thats a good example

that one kinda goes in hawks favor because they're both a part of the overall yakuza/like a dragon franchise though right? even though it's a spin off?

True yes

But the types of stories are different, talk about different things

Kind of? They take place in the same universe but it's still doing their own thing
