this is like, the culmination of all the multiverse stuff, if speculation is correct. the storylines with the same names in the comics basically smashed all the multiverses together and created a new one from the ashes

entirely possible that that was a goodbye, and this'll be a "let's shit on that by killing them, loooool" (though probably less likely if their chairs are there with everyone else's)
