the enemies being staggered by a link attack is dependent on the type of attack thrown at them

Slash is MC and strike is blue haired chick

and elliot is a special case

Elliot and Emma who is the glasses girl use staves

staves have a lower chance to cause link attacks compared to strike, pierce and slash

but it has an equal chance of doing it to any enemy

So can the scan move tell what weapon is most affective?

Still haven't used one

battle scopes tell you everything

elemental weaknesses, physical affinities and so forth

that is why i typically recommend linking two different character types together

like alisa and rean cover slash and pierce

I haven't heard of them but I'll check it out rn

links take a while to level up but whew, they give great shit

With Links I feel like I have 8 party members for battle

yeah, unless you're playing on hard or higher, you don't have to concern yourself with much attention to the mechanics

you can also switch anyone in mid battle when that happens thankfully

btw, alisa gets a very broken craft

that i recommend using
