I remember saying this to my comic book homies when it came out but, the issue with Man of Steel/that New 52 era was, there's a specific type of flavor of serious, or moody/broody that's kinda unique to Batman and they tried imo to replicate that in Superman and other stuff

Which worked in some runs where its played as Superman still doing good while having a bit of a hard edge. Going back to the golden age where he's a bit of an ass in how he does things.

But again it just comes down to how it played out

Zod threw a truck at him and instead of Superman catching it, he just dodged and let the truck hit a diesel shop and explode while he looks cool

It sucks too cause like. It makes sense. Animated Batman has always done great, the Arkham games did very well, Nolan Batman did very well, Pattinson Batman is good, like, the problem isnt just "too much batman", its also that Batman genuinely DOES good 😭
