@Daz_4th there's a new area in Wuthering Waves that almost makes my ps5 explode

and then I asked myself if it's UE5

and google told me UE4

and then I was shocked how this shit can be UE4

a lot of vegetation and all of it has collision detection

it reminds me a lot of the "graphics flex" area in GW Ragnarok

if they go UE5 it's over for mihoyo in the graphics department

there's not a single part of "grass" that is just flat. all of the foliage looks like this

it actuaIIy Iooks weII-pIaced rather than some setting they forgot to turn off

the only time where it causes issues is with flying because the character can fly faster than the foliage loads

but that's an optimization issue on ps5

on top of that the writing was excellent

this main story quest made me cry like a bitch

they also do a great job in terms of cutscenes. They sometimes tell cutscenes just through artworks and it never feels cheap because it's well utilized.

I never got the feeling that it's just to save money but rather as an artistic choice

they use it like old school FF games used their big cgi cutscenes

nowadays you can no longer impress with cgi so they do the exact opposite and make it artworks instead

to make it still feel special
