What about Ippo, or Baki?

Those have been going on since the 80's

I know he has health problems but Berserk had [i]terrible[/i] pacing for let's be honest the last 15 years so like

nah it's more the actual pacing but it's also difficult to judge conan on that because it's not supposed to be like a normal story

Conan is structured to have a lot of murder cases that have nothing to do with the main plot. The black organization plot is technically a side story and not even the main plot

Conan is more centered around these "filler" cases than the black org stuff

so it has bad bacing if you argue from the perspective that the black org stuff is the main story

Gosho Aoyama does a great job in turning some of these supposed "filler" cases into black org stuff though

Some people argue that they are asspulls but I really like how they included some of the stuff people thought were filler

especially the identity of the black org boss. The first time the story talked about him it felt like it was just a normal filler story

and people got a massive whiplash when Aoyama revealed who it was

the episode is so old that it even exists with german dub

it launched in 2004
