I was about to say something but I wouldn't get away with it even in this server so I stopped myself

over time, more and more people that want the copy will have it and so there are less copies out there that are circulating too, driving the price up on the ones still going around

Its sadly also just where the industry has been going for a long time. PC stopped physical games almost two decades ago and even back then it was just a download and then the disc was just waste to rot. For at least a decade digital has been selling more and more than physical, not just because there are more digital games than physical but also just the comparison between games who has both.
