TWEWY had a similar case with Neku but it was the opposite. Neku was mostly only caring about himself which is the other extreme on this spectrum

they need to write a more adult oriented story because shit gets old

and I don't mean with that Sora cursing

For example Sora growing up and realizing his own selfworth

an adult story? with mickey, donald and goofy?

You CAN tell serious stories with them and in fact there exist them

People can't take them seriously not cause the stories aren't serious but because people can't see past them being cartoon characters- that's on the people, not the characters.

In some cases being cartoony or lighthearted can even help the writing to make certain scenes even more impactful due to the contrast between a serious scene and the usual mood

it's one of the reasons why I love KH1 so much

Chain of Memories too

Nomura even said in an interview for that game that "the Disney characters fit in very naturally to the darker story this time."

Exactly. The idea that a serious story is adult just isn’t true

Well this year needs saving, anyway

Honestly, people who say that serious stories are only made for adults are quite frankly dumbasses to me

People who say otherwise clearly don't understand Disney history very well

Walt was well known for getting serious and dramatic when the plot called for it. Snow White and Sleeping Beauty are great examples of that.

The best example, however? No joke?

Education For Death

Seriously, that short does a fantastic job portraying the pure evil of the Nazis.

Even beyond that, Pluto's Judgment Day.

In that short, Pluto very nearly goes on trial for chasing cats and very nearly goes to hell, with the only thing stopping him being the fact that it's a dream.

In more modern times, we have A Goofy Movie: a very down-to-earth film about the relationship between Goofy and his son.

I’m not opposed to that

Personally, I headcanon Riku swears like a sailor

The fact Sora wakes up on a couch implies that either
1. Strelitzia walked in one day to a random 16 year old dude just on her couch all of a sudden
2. Strelitzia found some random 16 year old asleep somewhere and dragged him back to her apartment and put him on the couch

I highly doubt Strel dragged him back singlehandedly, so...that means Sora just kinda crashed on her couch like a hobo.

bro probably materialized on her living room floor while she was binge watching Netflix

Probably browsing HBO max or Hulu

imagining strel left the couch to make some popcorn while watching netflix and two minutes later she comes back and theres a dude just on the floor

Naw, Yozora brought him there after their battle because he is good friends with Strelitizia and rode off in his car

there's also the possibility of him landing on her patio while she's cooking dinner and she just hears a loud thump outside up on the 25th floor or whatever

"yeah uhhhh i beat the shit out of this kid you can have him"
"what the f-"

Well, Yozora was testing him

It's a parallel to Leon's first fight with Sora

hed need to get his tailbone checked then lmfao
