Well yeah that, Toybox and Monsters inc are the ones I loved the most for doing it

SDG weren't just on the side, they played an active role throughout it

But those are also the rare cases of it happening as the majority of the times its just a retelling

And if you are gonna retell it, don't be like Frozen (and Tangled a little bit) and be more like Mulan

so far I don't have the impression that coco will just be a retelling simply because it will likely mirror traverse town where Donald and Goofy will meet Sora

unless Donald and Goofy are a second visit where Sora is already gone

We will see how it goes but if it does became a traverse town.2 then I feel like it would be on the side while Coco's story is just the same

I never understood why they want to do retellings. If you play KH and then buy the movie you will know the major plot points already.

Well 5 years if we go by when it was announced but it had to be in the works for at least a year
