IT'LL BE MUCH MORE NARATIVELY INTERESTING IF THEY KNOW THAT SHE'LL DIE BUT CAN'T STOP IT OR TRYING TO STOP IT RESULTS IN HER DYING, OR TO PUSH THE POINT THAT SOME THINGS CANNOT BE CHANGED

You know I find it uncomfortable how much people relish in the glee and jubilation at Aeirth dying. Like I get it its part of the story but seeing people be like "omg yes please kill her" or "yes I can't wait for her to die" it's just kind of sadistic to me.

here's the thing for me

I'm not begging for areith to die because I don't like her or anything, she's an awesome character

I am just in the belief that with the whole whispers and changing fate and stuff, they are going to use that as an excuse to make areith live past that point, which I believe take away so much of what makes the story of ff7 so incredible

plus, while I don't know a lot of the og ff7 story, I believe that it's a very importaint turning point for cloud and the rest of the party

That's fair but I've seen people ok with the other changes, like other people surviving, but when Aerith comes up suddenly they care about preserving the original. It isn't consistent.

While there are a few people out there who wants Aerith die for the sake of it coughshipperscough, I think for a majority it's there because of what it means not only to the story bit also the history of gaming. This one event is one of the most iconic moments in gaming.

And while some characters have lived, like Wedge and Biggs, they were very minor characters in the original. Even with Wedge still around it still followed the original story in some way.

If Aerith does live then I can't really see how this is the same story because so much will need to change going forward

Other than the last two hours of remake, not much did change

You ask me the way Sephiroth and Zack has been utilized is more damning than Aeirth living could ever be

And even then, the trajectory is still the same. They need to go after Sephiroth.

Plus Yuffie's story is almost entirely different too

I just think people get really uppity about Aeirth dying when they don't extend that same feeling to other egregious things
