Hey, i'm sure most of you are aware of that Sony is making a psp 2, I don't really know what it is called specifically, but it's supposed to hit stores in about a couple of years. Anyway do you think that Birth by Sleep Volume 2 might be a launch title for the system? (By launch title I mean that it comes out the first day as the system does) Or do you think that Square might wait a while and put alot of time into this game like they did for the original bbs?

Personally, I hope they release it on the original PSP, instead of making us buy two new handhelds.

I know right! lol But the psp 2 is memory card games only, so if you get the psp 2, you can't play the orginal bbs.

Not unless you keep your old PSP. I figured they'd stop with the no UMD thing when the PSPgo failed.

Sony revealed on January 27th that the predecessor of the PSP is called the NGP(Next Generation Portable) and it will be released in the holidays later this year, not in a couple of years.

 

Depending on when Square will stop making games for the PSP, BBS Volume 2 will presumably be for the NGP since BBS was on the PSP just like how we know Square doesnt make PS2 games anymore, the new KH game will be on a next gen console.

actually Sony was a bit vauge wen they talked about releasing it, they hoped for a winter release date. Personally I hope they don't since, I don't think the series should have high end graphics until KH3 and afterwards. I think they should use they're engine for BBS (with a few tweaks) and and use it since it worked well beore. And if they do, we won't have to wait so long if they had to make the engine from scratch. and also he amount of money in my wallet is getting depleted, so that's another reason.

It's not the PSP2, it's the "Next Generation Portable" (though that's only a codename, and not official). I hope they go the way they did with Days and Re:coded and have it on PSP just like BBS. However, Square Enix was said to be making games for the NGP, or at least had it, so I'm kind of worried. Ah man, this is the only KH game I DON'T want to come! >_

i hope not, i bought a psp just to play kh BBS. if i gotta buy another system i think im gonna go broke

NGP games aren't downloadable, they are small memory cards.

 

and i would say that if BBSv2 is released before about april next year, it will be NPG, or before it would be PSP.

 

if square enix are feeling extra generous, they might release it on both (it has been done before, LEGO star wars 2, released on GBA and NDS)

Damn it Square Enix you mean. Nomura doesn't choose which console the game is on.

I've said this tonnes of times, I don't think BBSV2 will be on the PSP2 because I don't think Square would make PS3 quality graphics for KH unless it was for the PS3. Beyond that, KH has always been distant 3rd in franchise profits, Sqaure is careful about giving it a high budget. So save money, BBSV2 will probably be on the original PSP, and use the same engine as BBS.

Interesting. I was CONSIDERING buying a PSP some day for BBS, but I give up, they're gonna keep doing this. personally , I HOPE they SOMEDAY make ONE KH tittle that will be released in SEVERAL systems. Like the 360.

I thought there was a chance, but if it's got 2 - 3 more years till it's released. Then it's going on the PSP. DChiuch said it's going to use the same engine as Birth by Sleep, meaning one thing; It's going to be on the PSP.
