Playing through Aqua's side of BbS, I found Xehanort's report 4. This report indicates that were three factions in the Keyblade War: the Ones that aligned with light, the ones that chose darkness, and the ones that were trying to reconcile the two. The question is, am I reading that report right? Would like some opinions on the interpretation of that Report.

Sora aligned with light , Xehanort chose the darkness and Riku reconcile the two

The Twilight

The Twilight

is it the twilight that riku's representing, or is it the dawn, as he said at the end of chain of memories?

It's twilight, as that is when light and darkness are at equal balance.

There's actually four reading the report. Light, darkness, those who are trying to reconcile the two and those who have a lust for power.

Sora represents Light.

Xehanort represents Darkness.

Riku represents those trying to reconcile the two, which I would say is Dawn, because that is a mix of light and darkness.

No one really represnts those who have a lust for power...well perhaps Pete? I would say this would be people who belong to neither light nor darkness and have no special powers. Or it is Twilight, which according to Ansem is a bad thing.

Does Riku really reconcile the two? Because the whole end of KH2 would lead a guy to believe Riku lost his darkness-type powers and is now on the side of light.

Riku was seen using darkness-based attacks at the end of KHII. Also, Sora mentioned how its possible to use darkness, but for good, and that darkness and light dont have to be at odds with one another. So yes, Riku does reconcile the two, accepting both light and darkness.

I'm pretty sure the reconcile he two refers to a faction who wanted to bring balance to light and darkness. Not a single person who uses both.

Agreed, but perhaps with a few individuals that wields both light and darkness.

Wielders of Light and Darkness don't have to be on an exclusive side. Xehanort believes in the balance of light and darkness, and Riku is considered a hero even though he uses darkness. Namine and Roxas to.

The only inherent trouble seems to be that Darkness corrupts people at random, and makes people prone to mind control.

Sometimes.

As Keyblade King said, there are actually four factions.

Though I fail to see why people are trying to relate Sora, Riku, and Xehanort to the report, seeing as how they were never even mentioned in the report.

I guess when the report talks about the sides of light and darkness, it was primarily referring to the "zealots," those that believe that there way is the only way and the other side must be destroyed (i.e. Ansem SoD, and to some extent Master Eraqus).

As for the danger of wielding the power of darkness, think of it like Fire. If your careful with it, Fire can be used for good effect. But if your not careful with it, you get burned. Same with Darkness.

It is believe that history is repeating itself and we'll have another Keyblade War. People are trying to fit this information into that equation.
